This Sunday marks a very special day for us…..
It’s the one-year anniversary of Doctor’s Island Brewing!
A year ago we took a chance and opened the doors to our small seaside taproom here at 19 Hull Shore Drive after years of home brewing and building a grassroots community of taste testers. And since then, thanks to all of our loyal supporters, it’s been everything we dreamed it would be.
🍺 Greg and Michael have brewed 39 different beers and we've sold over 10,000 pints!
✌️We’ve been able to support some amazing local non-profit organizations such as Waypoint Adventure, The Lead Out Foundation, The Episcopal Parish of St. John, Cohasset Maritime Institute and the Hull Lifesaving Museum.
🎤 We’ve hosted some incredible talent from artists like JT Horne, Matt Bishop, Hazel Gerson, Matt Koelsch, Julia Babb, Tequila Tim, and Tyler LeStage.
It really does take a village to keep the lights on. We are very proud to have partnered with and supported so many other local entrepreneurs and small businesses during this journey such as To Dine For, Weinberg’s Bakery, Valley Malt, Stellwagen Beer Company, Dorchester Brewing Company, Nantasket Paint & Hardware, Village Market, Fruit Center Marketplace, Stroll Cohasset, Bayside Disposal, Knockout Pest Control, Atlantic Mechanical and ClinicalOne. We truly believe that this network of connections working together and supporting one another is the fabric that builds the foundation of a strong, lasting and thriving community.
🌎 ☀️🌊 The South Shore has certainly welcomed us with open arms and we are grateful.🙌
Doctor’s Island Brewing has brought together many of our life long family and friends and introduced them to the beauty and simplicity of Hull and we have also created many new friendships that we look forward to nurturing over the years to come.
The last twelve months have flown by quickly and it feels like we are meant to be here. We’ve created a fun, casual and relaxing oasis that fills a void for craft beer enthusiasts in search of the perfect pint on Nantasket Beach. Our goal is plain and simple: We’re proud to be a local small business offering a wide variety of tasty, mostly low-alcohol beers and seltzer in a welcoming, fun, positive, laid-back environment.
We’ve been amazed at the number of visitors to Doctor’s who are traveling to Hull for the first time! They are struck by the unique ocean beauty that exists right next to our front porch and so close to Boston.
We have a simple formula that works well and is manageable. We will continue to hone our brewing skills and focus on consistently delivering our guests a quality product with incredible views!
The Doctor’s Island staff is amazing. We can’t thank them enough for their enthusiastic work ethic and their natural ability to radiate kindness, happiness and joy to everyone who visits “The Island”.
Next season will look similar. We want to take things one step at a time. We hope to offer live music on a more consistent basis, we’ll look to provide opportunities for group gatherings and we’ll continue and possibly expand our distribution to local restaurants and liquor stores.
For now, you can find Doctor’s Island at West Corner Liquor’s, The Barrel in Hingham/Cohasset and Board 143 in Scituate. Come celebrate with us this Sunday (Labor Day weekend!) with a pint of Doctor’s and live music from Tequila Tim from 5-8pm as well as 25% off all on-premise merchandise! 🧢👚
